Build your own doll's wardrobe from an IKEA box

Clothes make the man – and of course the doll! And to ensure that all those smart outfits are stored neatly and wrinkle-free, we have once again prepared a very simple yet ingenious IKEA hack for you: we want to build our own doll's wardrobe. It's really easy with the KNAGGLIG box from our favourite Swedish store. So, let's get started!

What you need to build your own doll's wardrobe:

an IKEA KNAGGLIG box,
a wooden board measuring 45 x 30 cm,
a piece of Limmaland decal of your choice
two simple furniture hinges
a handle
a round wooden rod, 29 cm long
a cordless screwdriver
screws
and possibly some wood glue

Got everything you need? Then let's get started and build a wardrobe for your favourite doll!

Step 1: Assemble the wooden box

First, grab the KNAGGLIG box and assemble it. It's quick and easy – just follow the instructions provided by IKEA . Then nothing can go wrong .

Step 2: Decorate the cabinet door

Now it's time to move on to the decal from Limmaland. Which is your favourite film? You can find all colours and patterns here : yard goods. Cut the furniture foil of your choice to the size of the wooden board: . Then stick the foil onto the cupboard door. Is everything in place? Then grab your cordless screwdriver and drill a hole for the door handle into the board: . Then insert the knob: . Looks great, doesn't it?

Step 3: Attach the door to the doll's wardrobe

We'll continue straight on to : Using the two furniture hinges, you can now attach the embellished wardrobe door to the KNAGGLIG box. With the cordless screwdriver , you can tighten the screws in no time.

Step 4: Insert the clothes rail

Our doll's wardrobe now looks great from the outside, but one small but essential detail is still missing: the clothes rail! To do this, use the round wooden rod that you bought at the DIY store. Now clamp it into the IKEA wooden box – just like in a real wardrobe. If you want to be on the safe side , you can dab a little wood glue on the ends of the rod. Then let it dry, and everything will be rock solid. Done! It's that easy to build your own doll's wardrobe! Now all you have to do is furnish your new piece of furniture. You can buy small clothes hangers for the doll's wardrobe for very little money in numerous online shops. And then you can store all the colourful doll's clothes in the wardrobe .

Doll's cupboard and changing table

@froileinpuenktchen added a changing table to the doll's cupboard. To do this, she simply screwed a wooden board onto the KNAGGLIG box. We think it's a great idea!
