The IKEA SPISIG play kitchen for lots of imagination
IKEA products are our favourite. The simple design fits into every corner of our home - including the small world of our children. The new SPISIG play kitchen is a great alternative to the conventional play kitchen and offers great play opportunities for children.
Not only is it a great kitchen for little chefs, it can also be used on both sides and easily transforms into a café, restaurant or counter where the freshly prepared meal can be served straight away.
Pimping IKEA SPISIG play kitchen: 5 simple ideas
IKEA SPISIG makeover
@Ourekventures has transformed her IKEA Spisig play kitchen in such a way that we almost didn't recognise it. In place of the upper part of the small kitchen, she mounted the IKEA Flisat shelf directly on the wall. This is now used to hang various kitchen accessories in natural colours. Nature is the motto of this IKEA Spisig makeover. The hob and handles in this hack are also made of wood. We like the simple Scandi look of the IKEA play kitchen. But children would certainly enjoy a little colour in their kitchen area.
IKEA SPISIG as an ice cream parlour
Did you know that the small IKEA SPISIG play kitchen already contains a hack? All you have to do is turn it over and you'll find a board on the back side where the kids can present their menu. Or you can use the board and transform the kitchen into a bistro, a café, a toy shop or an ice cream parlour, as @sammydemmy has done here.
Pimp IKEA Spisig play kitchen: with decorative highlights
Sometimes less is more. @Jessspartyof5 has upgraded her Spisig play kitchen with a few small decorative highlights. Accessories in natural colours make the small kitchen cosier. She used the curtain rail to store a basket of colourful toy vegetables and added a plant for even more splashes of colour. Artificial plants are of course also suitable here.
A new tap and an oven handle in black are the finishing touches and make the IKEA play kitchen a highlight.
Back side for IKEA SPISIG
If you want a real tiled splashback like mum or dad have in their kitchen, this is unfortunately not possible with the IKEA Spisig play kitchen. But you can change that with a few simple steps. You can have chipboard cut to the right size at a DIY store for very little money. Simply cover them with our decorative film and the backsplash for the play kitchen is ready.
We also love this IKEA SPISIG hack: with a perforated panel as backsplash you can hang kitchen accessories on it. This is also a great way for young craftspeople to transform the small play kitchen into a workbench.
IKEA SPISIG vs. DUKTIG
Which play kitchen is the right one? This is a question that you have to answer individually for yourself. We have made a big children's kitchen comparison and explain the advantages and disadvantages of the children's kitchens from ALDI, LIDL and IKEA.
