What is cloud dough?
Cloud dough is a light, smooth mixture with a unique texture – somewhere between modelling clay and mousse. It feels soft, cool and powdery and is easy to shape with spoons, moulds or your hands. Whether you want to make cupcakes, little animals or ice cream scoops – there are no limits to your imagination. Kneading also trains fine motor skills – ideal as a relaxing activity for in between.
Make your own cloud dough
What you need:
- Cornflour
- Hair conditioner
- Food colouring (optional)
- Bowl for mixing
How to do it:
- Use a small bowl or cup as a measuring unit. Mix three parts cornflour with one part conditioner in a bowl. This ratio is a good basis for the perfect consistency.
- If you want to make colourful ice cream varieties, you can now add a few drops of food colouring. Dough without colouring remains a beautiful cloud white – which also looks great!
- First mix everything together with a spoon. This will distribute the colour evenly throughout the mixture and allow the ingredients to combine a little.
- Now comes the best part: get your hands in the bowl! Knead everything thoroughly – this will also allow you to feel whether the consistency is right. Is the dough still too crumbly? Then carefully add a little washing-up liquid. Is it too mushy? Then a spoonful of cornflour will help.
