IKEA iron-on beads: Miffy rug for your doll's house
IKEA iron-on beads: Miffy rug for your home dollhouse
And on we go with our dollhouse ideas! You want to make your home even cosier and for this you not only need cushions, but also a beautiful rug. You can easily "knot" this out of the IKEA iron-on beads.
Material and preparation: Miffy carpet beads
You can do this craft tip together with your children. We find that designing with iron-on beads is meditative for both children and adults. And you can make something for your new dollhouse at the same time. For example, a great Miffy rug. IKEA has a pack of PYSSLA iron-on beads* for a low price of 6.99 euros. Even in 2 different colours: Normal strong colours and pastel colours, which also go great with our dollhouse foils.
So you need:
- IKEAPSYSSLA iron-on beads* in black and white
- An IKEA PYSSLA pegboard*
- An ironing board
- An iron
- an old tea towel or baking paper
Step by step to the Miffy carpet with IKEA iron-on beads
The first step is to sort the white and black beads from the box. We used the square pegboard for our rug. How exactly you place the iron-on beads is of course up to you.
When you have finished stitching the picture, go to the ironing board. The children should not do this alone, as they can easily burn themselves. So mum and dad have to get involved. You can either carefully place a cloth over the beads or use baking paper. For us, it worked better with baking paper, as the beads simply stuck too strongly to the cloth. But both work! The cloth or baking paper is carefully placed on the design and the heated iron is pulled over it at a very slow speed until the beads melt enough and stick together.
